Entitlement to the training grants
All our courses are MQA-Approved and our Trainers are all MQA-Registered. This allows Employers who avail our Training courses for their Employees to claim a ‘Training grant’’ of up to 70% of the Training cost. How does it work in practice?
Mauritius Qualification Authority (MQA)
Mauritius Qualification Authority (MQA) is a body corporate under the Mauritius Qualifications Authority Act 2001 which falls under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research, which acts as a regulatory guardian of the National Qualifications Framework in Mauritius. Training Institutions are required to be registered with the MQA which applies best practice requirements in terms of Training infrastructure, Training content, Training Organisation etc.
Human Resources Development Council (HRDC)
The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) which also operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research has been vested with the responsibility to look after and promote the development of the labour force in Mauritius in line with the requirements of a fast growing economy.
National Training Fund
The HRDC is responsible for the management of the National Training Fund (NTF). Under the NTF, various training incentives are offered to employers in order to allow them to meet part of the training cost of their employees and to support other training initiatives both at enterprise and national levels.
Main conditions for eligibility under the Training Grant System
- Employers should contribute monthly towards the training levy;
- The courses/ training programmes should be MQA approved/ TEC Accredited prior to the start of the courses/programmes
- Grant is restricted to Mauritians or permanent Residents of Mauritius
Eligibility
Employers who contribute to the Training Levy can claim a grant up to 70% of the Training cost provided such training is provided by a Registered Training Institution by ABS.
